At the request of some of our readers, discerning and literate bunch that you all are, commencing with the May 1, 2008 issue we began archiving the March Report in a form suitable for presentation. Be advised that some of the links to external sites on the archived pages will have gone dead. Morte. Kaputski. That being the case, archives will be deleted, or replaced with an image of the headline area only, as the page itself becomes useless (assuming that it wasn't to begin with, which may be presumptuous in and of itself).

 Iron Man 2 Trailer:
Mickey Rourke Whips Robert Downey Jr. Into Shape

New York Magazine

Video The first trailer for the film just hit the interwebs, and thankfully, all of Robert Downey Jr.'s cocksure attitude that made the first movie such a huge hit looks as if it has been successfully replicated. The trailer also gives us a really good look at Mickey Rourke as Whiplash, but sadly, there's no sign of his signature drunk cockatoo. ...

British Writer Gets Sales Boost From Tiger Woods Crash

Agence France-Presse (FR)

Sales of a little-known British scientist's book have soared after it was pictured in Tiger Woods' crashed car, he said Thursday. "Get a Grip on Physics" by Doctor John Gribbin was photographed in a footwell of the car after the US golf superstar smashed it into a fire hydrant and a tree outside his Florida home last month. Within days of the pictures going round the world, the book's best-seller ranking on Internet retailer Amazon.com shot up from 396,224th position to 2,268th.

 Stargazers Spy Super-Earth Waterworld

Lester Haines -- Register (UK)

Astronomers from the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics (CfA) say they've spotted a super-Earth waterworld orbiting a red type M star some 40 lightyears from Earth. CfA graduate student Zachory Berta, who first identified the planet, said: "Despite its hot temperature, this appears to be a waterworld. It is much smaller, cooler, and more Earthlike than any other known exoplanet." The discovery was made as part of the ground-based MEarth Project, which uses "an array of eight identical 16-inch-diameter RC Optical Systems telescopes that monitor a pre-selected list of 2,000 red dwarf stars". ...

Microsoft Admits Juku Source Code Was Stolen

Geek With Laptop

"Our MSN China joint venture contracted with an independent vendor to create a feature called MSN Juku that allowed MSN users to find friends via Microblogging and online games" Microsoft said in a statement. "We're still in shock asking why Microsoft would even stoop to this level of wilfully plagiarizing a young and innovative upstart's work rather than reach out to us or innovate on their own terms" said Plurk in a blog. It's not the first time that Microsoft has been in the news for allegedly ripping off other people's work, only a month ago they were accused of using copied source code for a Windows 7 installation tool, they blamed a third party vendor then too. ...

Obama's Game Plan: Roadmap To Enforced Socialism

James Simpson -- American Thinker

Richard Cloward and Frances Fox Piven were two lifelong members of Democratic Socialists of America who taught sociology at Columbia University (Piven later went on to City University of New York). In a May 1966 Nation magazine article titled "The Weight of the Poor," they outlined their strategy, proposing to use grassroots radical organizations to push ever more strident demands for public services at all levels of government. The result, they predicted, would be "a profound financial and political crisis" that would unleash "powerful forces ... for major economic reform at the national level." It is that strategy we see unfolding before us, led by Barack Obama. ...

Cass Sunstein, Administrator Of The White House Office Of Information And Regulatory Affairs, Wants To Censor Right-Wing Websites

Aaron Klein -- World Net Daily

In his recently released book, "On Rumors," Sunstein specifically cited as a primary example of "absurd" and "hateful" remarks, reports by "right-wing websites" alleging an association between President Obama and Weatherman terrorist Bill Ayers. He also singled out radio talker Sean Hannity for "attacking" Obama regarding the president's "alleged associations." Ayers reportedly was involved in hiring Obama as chairman for the Chicago Annenberg Challenge -- a job Obama later touted as qualifying him to run for public office. ...

Barack Obama Admits He Will Miss Guantanamo Closing Deadline; Calls Stimulus Data Errors 'Side Issue'

FOX News

Barack Obama brushed off criticism over his administration's inaccurate reporting on job creation Wednesday, telling Fox News' Major Garrett the accounting is an "inexact science" and that any errors are a "side issue" when compared with the goal of turning the economy around. He said job growth is his No.1 responsibility. Obama also said Wednesday that he still plans to close the Guantanamo Bay detention camp next year even though his administration is widely expected to miss its self-imposed January 2010 deadline for shuttering the Cuba facility. ...

Obama Intel Pick Lauded Iranian Nuclear Program As 'Deterrent' Against Israel

Aaron Klein -- World Net Daily

The Obama administration's withdrawn nominee for a top intelligence post delivered a speech to a pro-Arab U.S. group in which he claimed that Israel has long assassinated peace-loving Palestinian leaders. Freeman was slated to head the National Intelligence Council but withdrew his nomination in March following revelations that he has financial ties to the infamous bin Laden family and that he sits on the board of a major oil company owned by the Chinese government that had been in the midst of a multibillion dollar deal with Iran that may violate U.S. sanctions. It is also alleged that Freeman once peddled a Saudi-funded book to U.S. public schools that falsely claims Muslims inhabited North America far before European explorers. ...

Obama's Secret Deal To Sabotage Israel

Barak Ravid and Natasha Mozgovaya -- Haaretz (IZ)

The reports indicated that Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad has reached a secret understanding with the Obama administration over U.S. recognition of an independent Palestinian state. No Prompter, No Facts

Mike Bates -- News Busters

In his remarks about the Fort Hood shootings, Barack Obama did it again, illustrating the dangers of his giving shout outs without a teleprompter. "I want to thank my Cabinet members and senior administration officials who participated today. I hear that Dr. Joe Medicine Crow was around, and so I want to give a shout out to that Congressional Medal of Honor winner. It's good to see you," Obama said. The problem: Crow is not a Medal of Honor recipient; he is a recipient of the Medal of Freedom, the nation's highest civilian honor. ...

March Report Podcast

News and Opinion Presented by Robert Jay March

52:36. Recorded
Friday, October 30, 2009
TOPICS DISCUSSED:

Is Glenn Beck a Hero, a Coward ... or BOTH?

Indisputibly, Glenn Beck has provided heroic service to this country on his radio and cable-tv program by exposing the unconstitutional socialization of the United States by the Obama Administration. That said, it appears that he has caved to pressure regarding Certifi-Gate, the occupation of the White House by a constitutionally ineligible electee. Robert Jay March thoroughly analyzes this, exposing the pressures that he and other on-air talent have had placed them by corporate honchos who care more about their profits than our country.
Fox News was set up by Roger Ailes, a former president of CNBC and the late, lamented America's Talking Network, the pre-cursor of MSNBC. March discusses the hidden motivation behind Ailes' building of Fox News into the only television news operation that is not a press-release service for the Obama Administration, not to mention crushing MSNBC and CNN. Do you think the execs at GE are wishing they could turn the clock back?
What does the late, unlamented Hernando Cortés have to do with MarchReport.com? Robert Jay March explains the two-month gap since his last podcast, as he worked behind the scenes to make MarchReport.com bigger and better, while burning all his other boats behind him. March describes how he came to be disabled and home-bound eight years ago, yet continued to work 100 to 120 hours a week running two businesses throughout it all.
Manuel Zelaya, the deposed President of Honduras, who was legally removed from office in accordance with the Honduran Constitution, is being returned to office as a result of pressure from the Obama administration. Hmmm ... they pressured the Honduran Government to restore a President who had violated their Constitution and been legally removed from office. Wonder why? March thinks he knows.

Links To Doctor Could Deepen Tiger Woods' Travails

Christine Brennan -- USA Today

Tiger isn't talking publicly about any of this, but in an e-mail to the AP, his agent, Mark Steinberg, said: "The treatment Tiger received is a widely accepted therapy and to suggest some connection with illegality is recklessly irresponsible." The day before, Steinberg wrote to the Times: "I would really ask that you guys don't write this? If Tiger is NOT implicated, and won't be, let's please give the kid a break." It was foolhardy of Steinberg to believe any news organization would not report on an association between someone like Woods and someone like Galea. Since 1988, when the Ben Johnson scandal broke at the Summer Olympic Games in Seoul, the enormously important topic of performance-enhancing drug use has been the biggest worldwide issue in sports. ...

But Santos showed up with his head nearly shaved, teeing off Judge Gloria Sosa-Lintner -- who had previously warned him that he would have to undergo a hair-follicle test to check for drug use.  Bank Of America Picks Insider Brian Moynihan As New Chief Executive

James Quinn -- Telegraph (UK)

The decision, which comes just two weeks before incumbent chief executive Ken Lewis is due to stand down, was the result of a three-month search by the banking conglomerate's board. Mr Moynihan, who joined BoA in 2004 when it took over FleetBoston Financial, his then employer, will take over the top job on January 1 following Mr Lewis's retirement. It is understood the board's decision came after two days of heated debate about the merits of Mr Moynihan and his main internal rival for the role, chief risk officer Greg Curl. ...

John Carney -- Business Insider

As late as two weeks ago, Greg Curl was considered the lead inside candidate. He had managed the bank's TARP exit capital raising, which many thought would win him the CEO slot. But Curl had a problem-and that problem was named Andrew Cuomo. The attorney general has been probing whether Bank of America's top management properly disclosed mounting losses at Merrill to shareholders before they voted to approve the acquisition last year. And word has been leaking out of Cuomo's office that he is "concerned" about some of the testimony Curl gave to the investigation. A source familiar with the matter says that Cuomo effectively vetoed the selection of Curl. ...

Science Silence: Why Global Warming Minds Avoid Open Debate?

Russia Today

Video The UN Climate Conference in Copenhagen is entering its final phase as participants have just two days left to hammer out a new global warming deal. Representatives from from one hundred and ninety three nations are taking part. The main sticking point in the difficult discussion concerns payouts from rich countries to developing nations to help combat climate change. We talked to Lars Seier Christensen who recently published a book which questions the science behind global warming. He says it's too early to make big decisions on climate change. ...

YEST Al Gore's Melting Arctic Claim Shot Down By Scientist Who's Data Gore Used to Justify It

Philippe Naughton -- London Times (UK)

Al Gore stood by his claim yesterday that the North Pole could be ice-free within five years, attracting a storm of criticism from scientists and sceptics alike. Wieslaw Maslowski, a climatologist at the US Naval Postgraduate School in California, on whose work Mr Gore based his claim that there is a 75 per cent chance that the North Pole will be completely ice-free within five to seven years, said that this was a misrepresentation of the information he had provided to Mr Gore's office. "Over the last two years we've learnt that it's very difficult to melt the oldest ice at the North Pole," said Professor Jim Overland, a leading oceanographer at the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. "It would be almost impossible for this to happen within five years." ...

Dr. Tim Ball -- Canada Free Press (CA)

It is stunning to watch Michael Mann and Gavin Schmidt staring directly at the camera and denying the significance of their e-mails. It works because they used it to deceive the world. They know most won't understand the e-mails. They claim they're taken out of context. In context the fullness of their criminality is exposed.  NASA Stonewalling Stokes Fears Climategate Will Spread To U.S.

David A. Patten -- NewsMax

The next weather-science scandal may erupt right here in the United States. For nearly three years CEI, a free-market, public-interest organization, has pursued a series of Freedom of Information Act Requests intended to force NASA's climate-science division to hand over e-mails it says could reflect the same sort of pro-warming bias seen in the recent e-mails from the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) of East Anglia University. One reason NASA's unresponsiveness is drawing attention: For years, the CRU stonewalled a request filed through the British information-act process, before information was "hacked" and posted on the Internet in November. "They have resisted and haven't wanted to turn anything over," CEI Energy and Global Warming Policy Director Myron Ebell says of NASA. "... So this looks like climate gate all over again to us." ...

The Economics Of Climate Change

Wall Street Journal

The e-mails and documents leaked last week from some of the world's leading climatologists offer a rich trove of evidence that scientists were massaging the data and corrupting the scientific process to support their own preconceptions. But they also offer the beginnings of an explanation for why. In the words of another famous leaker, follow the money. To keep the money flowing, climate scientists needed to keep the fear going. Anything that called into question their most dire predictions of climate catastrophe would put funding at risk. On the other hand, the bigger the climate calamity, the more willing governments became to fund global-warming research. Keeping the dissenters on the outside was not simply a matter of academic jealousy. It was in many cases a question of professional survival. ...

Matthew Davidson -- Department of Nuclear Science and Engineering, MIT

Many corporate media outlets have refused to report on this story. Indeed much of the biased reporting recently put forth as journalism by CNN, The New York Times, etc. has presented anthropogenic global warming as a foregone conclusion. In reality, there is a great deal of disagreement among scientists on the subject. These communications reveal a trail of manipulation and concealment of data that would not support the theory of anthropogenic global warming. This is shameful and cannot be ignored by the scientific community. This corruption must be investigated and the individuals responsible must be tried for any illegal acts committed. ...

"IPCC Elite Embarrassingly, If Not Criminally, Compromised"

Rebecca Terrell And Ed Hiserodt -- New American Magazine

Among the IPCC elite embarrassingly, if not criminally, compromised is Phillip D. Jones, a Ph.D. climatologist at the University of East Anglia whose work figured prominently in the IPCC Third Assessment Report of 2001. Jones also contributed significantly to the IPCC Fourth Assessment Report in 2007 (AR4), but he failed to follow through when skeptical investigators asked to review raw data associated with that report. They announced intent to use UK Freedom of Information laws to obtain the data, so Jones sent the following e-mail to one of his collaborators: "Mike, Can you delete any e-mails you may have had with Keith re AR4? Keith will do likewise.... Can you also e-mail Gene and get him to do the same?... Will be getting Caspar to do likewise." The Mike in this message is Michael Mann, professor of meteorology at Pennsylvania State University, whose influential "hockey stick" graph warning of pending global warming eco-catastrophe was found by a congressional investigation to be fraudulent. In another correspondence about AR4 labeled HIGHLY CONFIDENTIAL, Jones contacted Mann regarding research critical of their global warming platform. "I can't see either of these papers being in the next IPCC report," wrote Jones. "Kevin and I will keep them out somehow -- even if we have to redefine what the peer-review literature is!" ...

Certifi-Gate! America In Captivity

Closed Chrysler Dealers To Challenge Obama's Eligibility

Bob Unruh -- World Net Daily

Two lawyers, Leo Donofrio and Stephen Pidgeon, have joined forces to assemble a case challenging in U.S. bankruptcy court the federal government's use of Troubled Asset Relief Program funds to bail out Chrysler and in doing so may have created a scenario that finally will bring to a head the issue of Barack Obama's eligibility to be president. Their new case questions the authority by which the federal government and administration officials intervened in the auto industry, specifically allocating some $8 billion-plus to Chrysler, which later was forgiven. The clients in the case are former Chrysler dealers who lost their businesses as part of the "restructuring" of the automobile company. They have been damaged with the loss of their businesses, and the case alleges the Obama administration, through its use of TARP money, influenced Chrysler's outcome. Along with a bankruptcy court challenge, a "quo warranto" case is being filed in Washington, D.C., demanding to know by what authority administration officials set up the financial arrangements with Chrysler and handed out taxpayer money. As part of the demand for information about the authority used, Donofrio confirmed, there will be questions about Obama's eligibility to be president. ...

U.S. Sen. The delay, which lasted about three hours, was triggered when Coburn, R-Okla., objected to the routine request to waive the reading of the lengthy amendment by Sen.  Obama's Ratings Sink On Economy, Healthcare

Reuters

Public opinion polls show Obama's approval rating hovering at 50 percent or lower, 11 months after he took office with a high of 69 percent approval. Majorities disapprove of his handling of the U.S. economy and healthcare. While job losses appear to have bottomed out, the country still is mired in a 10 percent unemployment rate that experts believe will remain high for months. All this comes as Democrats gird to defend their majorities in the House of Representatives and the Senate in elections next November. Republicans sense they may have an opportunity to make a comeback after devastating losses in 2006 and 2008. ...

Pelosi To Obama On Afghanistan Votes:
Talk To The Hand

Paul Kane -- Washington Post

Barack Obama will have to argue his own case to House Democrats as he seeks support for a planned surge of 30,000 troops into Afghanistan, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Wednesday, adding that she is finished asking her colleagues to back wars that they do not support. Pelosi, who has warned of "serious unrest" among House Democrats about Afghanistan, said Wednesday that she intends to live up to her vow not to "ever ask them to vote for" a war they oppose again, on the upcoming supplemental bill, which will require $30 billion to $40 billion for the additional 30,000 troops. ...

YEST Why Democrats Push Health Care, Even If It Kills Them

Byron York -- Washington Examiner

To some observers, the Democrats' race to pass national health care seems irrational -- even suicidal. Don't party leaders understand how much the public opposes the bills currently on the table? Don't they know that voters are likely to take their revenge at the polls next year? Given that, why do they keep rushing ahead? "In the House, the view of [California Rep. Henry] Waxman and [House Speaker Nancy] Pelosi is that we've waited two generations to get health care passed, and the 20 or 40 members of Congress who are going to lose their seats as a result are transitional players at best," a Democratic strategist who asked to remain anonymous said. "This is something the party has wanted since Franklin Roosevelt." In this view, losses are just the price of doing something great and historic. (The strategist also noted that it's easy for Waxman and Pelosi to say that, since they come from safely liberal districts.) ...

YEST Obama Might Not Get Health Care Overhaul For Christmas

David Lightman -- McClatchy Newspapers

Barack Obama tried mightily Tuesday to jolt the Senate's stalled health care overhaul effort, but after an hour-long closed-door meeting with Senate Democrats, the fate of his top 2009 domestic priority remains unclear. Obama afterward said he was "cautiously optimistic" the measure could pass the Senate before Christmas, and Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont., said Democrats left the meeting "enthusiastic." Many Democrats remained circumspect about the bill. "We're all being urged to vote for something and we don't know the details of what's in it," said Sen. Evan Bayh, D-Ind. ...

YEST Poll Finds Public Fearful Of Revamped Health Care

Dan Balz and Jon Cohen -- Washington Post

A bare majority of Americans still believe government action is needed to control runaway health-care costs and expand coverage to the roughly 46 million people without insurance. But after a year of exhortation by Barack Obama and Democratic leaders and a high-octane national debate, there is minimal public enthusiasm for the kind of comprehensive changes in health care now under consideration. ...

YEST Sen. Ben Nelson Of Nebraska Now Lone Senate Democratic Holdout

Laura Litvan and Kristin Jensen -- Bloomberg News

The Democratic party has been divided over how best to cover tens of millions of uninsured Americans, with many liberal Democrats pushing for a so-called public option run by the government to compete with private insurers. Another proposal would have let people as young as age 55 enroll in Medicare, the federal insurance program for people age 65 and older. Lacking the votes for either idea, Senate Democrats said they decided to focus on what they can do to pass the legislation -- Obama's top domestic priority -- by the end of the year. Any movement toward an agreement may still fall apart. Nebraska Democrat Ben Nelson has threatened to vote against the legislation unless stronger restrictions are included to prevent federal funding of abortion. ...

YEST Eliot Spitzer May Face "Stiff" Competition For Comptroller

Jessica Pressler -- New York Magazine

Just when Eliot Spitzer started to feel sufficiently healed to poke his head back into politics after his prostitution scandal, cautiously upgrading his "weighing" of a run for the low-key (but still important!) position of city comptroller to a "strongly considering," his past is coming back to haunt him. And his past is flamboyant. Kristin Davis, the madam who claimed Spitzer as a client and who was arrested as part of a prostitution roundup in the wake of his scandal, has announced her intention to run against him. "I am just as qualified for the position of comptroller than [sic] Spitzer," she writes on her website. Plus, she has the most important ingredient in politics: passion. ...

Richard Owen -- London Times (UK)

Italian newspapers today devoted their front pages to a parcel bomb planted in an underground corridor at Bocconi business university in Milan which was detonated by a timer in the early hours of yesterday morning. It contained two kilos of dynamite but had only "partially" exploded, police said. A group calling itself "The Informal Anarchist Federation" claimed responsibility. The same group also sent a parcel bomb to an immigration office at Gorizia on the Italian-Slovenian border. It exploded but caused no injuries. "After the statuette, the dynamite" said Il Giornale, the newspaper owned by Mr Berlusconi's brother Paolo, adding "here come the bombs". It claimed that the parcel bombs, like Mr Tartaglia's attack, were "the fruit of a climate of hate" against Mr Berlusconi created by the Left. ...

He doesn't specify the new technology or say when he expects Iran to reach such a capability. Q: When Is A Tiger A Cheetah?
A: When He's a Dog

by Robert Jay March

The first time I became aware of Eldrick Tont "Tiger" Woods was when I was 26 years old and he was 3. I watched as he appeared, with his late father Earl Woods, on The Mike Douglas Show as a "golf prodigy," putting against Bob Hope. At the time, he seemed to be the sweetest child on the face of the planet, and, being an expectant father who had just recently lost his own father, I found myself inspired by him, and hoped for a great future for him. After all, how could such a talented child fail? How could such a sweet child who was so close to his father ever do anything wrong?

I can't give you a precise air date for the program because, in those days, satellite distribution did not yet exist, and syndicated programs were distributed by bicycle messengers, hauling 2-inch video tape cartridges from city to city. What aired in January in one market might not air until July in another.

Nowadays, information travels a lot faster. As this is being written, six women have come forward claiming to have had affairs with Tiger Woods. The elapsed time between each woman's declaration and the whole world's knowing of it was virtually zero.

On November 27, 2009, Tiger Woods crashed his car into a fire hydrant near his home. The National Enquirer had already run a story about his alleged affair with Rachel Uchitel, and the accident, coupled with rumors that it occurred due to Wood's fleeing his home to escape an angry, golf-club wielding wife flashed around the world at the speed of, well, a man fleeing from a golf-club wielding wife. Since then, we've learned about Jamie Grubbs, Kalika Moquin, Jamie Jungers, Cori Rist and Mindy Lawton, with rumors of more to come.

One thing Woods and I have in common is that we are both Buddhists. He was born into the faith, while I converted 38 years ago. Twelve years ago, I adopted a life-style of celibacy: partly for religious reasons, and partly because, like Woods, I was having difficulty leaving my putter in the bag when that was where it should be. Much like an alcoholic who does not dare touch a drink, while others can drink responsibly, I found that "putting the cork in the bottle" for good was the only way to deal with a serious flaw in my character. On the other hand, I can safely discuss the wisdom of this decision with Jose Cuervo or Jack Daniels, and keep it brief.

Buddhism teaches us to divest ourselves of attachments, because attachments are at the root of all pain. Material things can act as anesthetics, muting that pain while not addressing the cause. Due to his talent, Tiger Woods has gained an abundance of material things in his young life, but apparently not the maturity to deal with them. When one gets so much so early, one can easily develop the delusion that one is living a charmed life; that delusion inevitably leads to disaster. When one has so much ready cash, it always attracts those who are only interested in the size of your wad. What do you expect when one of your mistresses stars in "Tool Academy?"

A couple of days after the initial revelations, Woods issued a self-serving statement, wherein he said, "the virtue of privacy is one that must be protected in matters that are intimate and within one's own family. Personal sins should not require press releases and problems within a family shouldn't have to mean public confessions." What planet are you living on, dude?

I learned the hard way, a long time ago, that the only way to protect your secrets is not to have any. When you make your living in the public eye, the public's eye is always on you: when it's convenient and when it's not. Especially when it's not.

It has been reported that, as a result of his infidelity, Elin Nordegren Woods has renegotiated her prenuptial agreement with Tiger. The original prenup granted her $20 million provided the marriage lasted for 10 years. Now, reports say that the amount has been increased to $80 million, and that she got an immediate additional $5 million as a "signing bonus." Who negotiated this deal, Jerry Maguire? In exchange, Elin will keep her mouth closed. Oh, you can count on that, my man; hermetically sealed. This relationship sounds more like a mergers-and-acquisitions deal than a marriage, but I think I can safely say that there won't be much merging going on anytime soon.

Tiger's father Earl was an inspirational man. He attended Kansas State University on a baseball scholarship, and broke the Big Eight Conference "color barrier." He was good enough to be offered a contract by the Kansas City Monarchs of the Negro Leagues, which he turned down so he could finish college. When he was not allowed to get off the bus for a game in Mississippi, the entire team supported him and left without playing. Earl Woods served two full tours of duty in the Vietnam War, and was part of the Green Berets. He went on to become a Professor of Military Science & Tactics at CUNY.

One can only wonder if recent events would have played out as they did (or if they would have occurred at all) had Earl Woods still been around to talk some sense into his son. Regrettably, Earl died in 2006 of prostate cancer. Tiger might have been better off if Earl never taught him how to play golf. At Stanford University, Tiger majored in Economics, where he was nicknamed "Urkel" after the character on the ABC sitcom Family Matters.

Somehow, I can't see Ms. Uchitel, et al. doing the Urkel Dance with a nerdy economist. However, I can envision Tiger asking "You love me, don't you?" of the betrayed Elin, as Urkel would have asked Laura Winslow. Elin might reply, "Sure, baby, $80 million worth...and counting."

 Roy E. Disney Rejuvenated Animation

Brooks Barnes -- New York Times

As a boy the younger Roy would play in the halls of his uncle's studio, where animators often used him as a test audience as they toiled on movies like "Pinocchio." As an adult he helped bring the animation studio back from the brink, overseeing a creative renaissance that led to "The Little Mermaid," "Beauty and the Beast" and "The Lion King." But the soft-spoken Mr. Disney was primarily known for a willingness to question the company's top managers, aggressively and publicly, when he felt they were mishandling the family empire. Some people in the company referred to him as its real-life Jiminy Cricket: a living conscience who was at times intensely disliked by management for speaking out. ...

Rants & Raves from Our Readers

A reader who wishes to remain anonymous sent in this criticism:

Mr. March, You linked the video of Hillary Clinton having what has been referred to as an 'outburst' on your site, yet, you did not explain the context. You omitted the truth and presented the situation as another crazy Clinton moment. You not only misportrayed the situation, you lost an opportunity to share/address the plight of women who have no rights in their country. I have been a long time reader of your March Report and have shared the Report with many people. I wrote to you addressing the Clinton video and have seen no retraction or explanation. I won't be referring anyone to this page anymore. My belief and trust that you maintain objectivity and research all sides has been permanently altered recently. Consevative or not, you have always seemed to work at being fair and true to journalism. I now am seeing you differently.

Robert Jay March Responds:

This reader has mischaracterized the report. In fact, we went out of way to add clarity to the situation. The copy proved by WMAQ-TV, the televsion station which provide the report through one of our syndicators, said "A Congolese university student seems to presume that Bill Clinton's opinion is more important than the current Secretary of State's." In order to portray the situation accurately, we rewrote the copy to read as follows (emphasis added): "As a result of a translator's error, a Congolese university student appears to presume that Bill Clinton's opinion is more important than the current Secretary of State's. Hillary explodes, and hilarity ensues. Oh, those wacky, wacky Clintons." That was all the information that was available on August 11, 2009, when we ran the story. Witty retort aside, we went out of our way to clarify the report. Further details from the State Department and the White House did not become available until the following day.

Another reader, who wish to be referred to by the nom de plume "Needles," has an unusual take on the Certifi-Gate crisis:

The birthers need to step back and consider the consequences of their actions. If Mr. Obama were to be declared ineligible, there are several possible outcomes. They could remove him from office and install Joe Biden as President. The argument would be made that if Mr. Obama was not eligible to run for President, then the ticket is invalid as well and Joe Biden should not be Vice President. The next person in the order of succession would be Speaker of the House; Nancy Pelosi. Because no eligible candidate received a majority of electoral votes, the selection of the President could be thrown into the House. Speaker Nancy Pelosi, would then be king-maker. The choices are Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi or someone Nancy Pelosi picks. Maybe it is best to leave the birth certificate matter alone.

Robert Jay March Responds:

Mr. Obama being declared ineligible does not legally invalidate Biden's election, provided he is qualified. Even if it did, the Constitution is too important to ignore; it is all that separates us from tyranny. Regardless of the consequences, if in fact Mr. Obama is ineligible, he must be removed. That said, all we have thus far is the preponderance of evidence leading to a likely conclusion, not conclusive facts. That is why the revelation of the long-form birth certificate is so important.

Finally, a third reader who wish to be referred to by the nom de plume "unihawker," writes:

Dear Mr. March, I was watching TV the other night and they showed a clip of Obama in Kenya during his trip there during the campaign. I am not sure if it was just some Freudian slip or not, but he said as he was waiving to the people greeting him, "Thank you, it is great to be back home". My question was, If he was not born in that country why would he call it home?

Robert Jay March Responds:

Good question, for which I have no answer. If this report is correct, it is yet another contribution to the preponderance of evidence that implies Mr. Obama is ineligible. A copy of the long form birth certificate would cost Mr. Obama $12; thus far he has spent $1.3 Million to avoid producing it. As in any investigation, follow the money: in this case, what money is being spent on to conceal.
