At the request of some of our readers, discerning and literate bunch that you all are, commencing with the May 1, 2008 issue we began archiving the March Report in a form suitable for presentation. Be advised that some of the links to external sites on the archived pages will have gone dead. Morte. Kaputski. That being the case, archives will be deleted, or replaced with an image of the headline area only, as the page itself becomes useless (assuming that it wasn't to begin with, which may be presumptuous in and of itself).

Medical Marijuana Gets A Boost From Major Doctors Group

John Hoeffel -- Los Angeles Times

The American Medical Assn. on Tuesday urged the federal government to reconsider its classification of marijuana as a dangerous drug with no accepted medical use, a significant shift that puts the prestigious group behind calls for more research. In changing its policy, the group said its goal was to clear the way to conduct clinical research, develop cannabis-based medicines and devise alternative ways to deliver the drug. ...

NASA Sees "Significant Quantities" Of Water On The Moon

John Timmer -- Ars Technica

Shortly after NASA's LCROSS probe slammed into a crater in the polar region of the Moon, the Agency held a press conference to announce that it had obtained significant amounts of data from the collision. Unfortunately, to the frustration of many present, it wasn't ready to interpret that data. That reticence ended today, as NASA held a press conference in which it announced that the data contains unambiguous evidence of water, present in what it termed "significant quantities." But the signal from water isn't the only one lurking in the data, and NASA is remaining coy about what the other signals indicate. ...

Mr. Softee Groks Sudo

Pamela Jones -- Groklaw

For Unix/Linux techies and wannabes: it appears that Microsoft has just patented sudo, a personalized version of it. Thanks, USPTO, for giving Microsoft, which is already a monopoly, a monopoly on something that's been in use since 1980 and wasn't invented by Microsoft. This is why what the US Supreme Court does about software patents means so much. Sudo is an integral part of the functioning of GNU/Linux systems, and you use it in Mac OS X also. Maybe the Supreme Court doesn't know that, and maybe the USPTO didn't realize it. But do you believe Microsoft doesn't know it? ...

Government Demanded The IP Address Of Every Visitor To A Political News Site

Julian Sanchez -- Cato Institute

Recently, the Justice Department subpoenaed the system logs of left-leaning news aggregator site IndyMedia. According to tech journalist Declan McCullah, it instructed [System administrator Kristina] Clair to "include IP addresses, times, and any other identifying information," including e-mail addresses, physical addresses, registered accounts, and Indymedia readers' Social Security Numbers, bank account numbers, credit card numbers, and so on. The sweeping request came with a gag order prohibiting Clair from talking about it. Clair did tell attorneys at the Electronic Frontier Foundation, and when they wrote to U.S. Attorney Timothy Morrison questioning the propriety of the request, it was promptly withdrawn. ...

Lou Dobbs Leaving CNN

Lou Dobbs Headed To Fox News ... For An Interview With Bill O'Reilly

Jeff Bercovici -- Daily Finance

Warm feelings between the two men goes back to last summer, when O'Reilly publicly defended Dobbs against critics who wanted him fired for repeatedly showcasting the claims of "birthers" who allege President Obama wasn't born in the U.S. Dobbs offered to be interviewed on The O'Reilly Factor then, but quickly backed out, prompting speculation that CNN had ordered him not to appear on a competing network. Monday's appearance could be a make-good for that...or it could be a not-so-subtle signal that Dobbs is inclined to sign on with Rupert Murdoch's legions, as many believe he will. ...

Is Fox His Next Stop?

Brian Stelter And Bill Carter -- New York Times

Well known for his political positions, Mr. Dobbs, who had been with CNN since its founding, is an outlier at CNN, which has sought to position itself as a middle ground of sorts in the fractious cable news arena. The CNN employees said Wednesday that they did not know if Mr. Dobbs was moving to another network. Mr. Dobbs met with Roger Ailes, the chairman of the Fox News Channel, in September. At the time Mr. Dobbs was viewed as a potential hire for the Fox Business Network. But a Fox spokesperson said Wednesday, "We have not had any discussions with Lou Dobbs for Fox News or Fox Business." ...

CNN Finding That Prime-Time Success Is Elusive

David Bauder -- Associated Press

CNN's average prime-time audience was third behind Fox and MSNBC during October, and it was even eclipsed by sister network HLN among younger viewers, according to the Nielsen Co. Perhaps more ominous, CNN finished well behind Fox when big news was breaking - Election Night and the Fort Hood massacre. Big stories usually sent viewers flocking to CNN. Of people who say their main source of news is CNN, 46 percent identify themselves as Democrats and 13 percent as Republicans, according to a July survey by the Pew Research Center (the rest say they're independent or don't identify themselves politically). The same study found that Fox's main source audience was 38 percent Republican and 18 percent Democratic. To a certain degree, it stands to reason: If so many Republicans find Fox a comfortable home, there are fewer remaining for CNN, particularly in a country where Democrats have an enrollment edge. ...

Sources: Lou Dobbs Prepping Possible Presidential Run

allyourtv.com

Dobbs apparently feels that a run for president -- perhaps as an independent -- is a real possibility. And associates expect that in the upcoming weeks Dobbs will making a number of speeches in front of friendly crowds, in an effort to judge the public's reaction to his political ambitions. "It's not that he sees himself as a politician," says one associate. "But he honestly believes that this is his time, that he has something constructive to contribute to the political discourse." ...

Fox Biz Net Launches Online Show, Then Shops For Sponsors

Media Post

When the Fox Business Network (FBN) launched an online news/ commentary show in February, it did so without a sponsor. "We wanted to make sure that we had something tangible to discuss [with advertisers] versus just an idea," said Jeremy Steinberg, head of sales for FBN and Fox News Channel's digital operations. The strategy appears to have worked. FBN began weaving ads into its live online shows this quarter. Chase is on board as an advertiser for the lunchtime "FoxBusiness.com Live -- Noon Edition" -- an hour-long show with anchors and guest commentators, in line with the network's on-air product, although it does encourage viewer interaction. In October, as Don Imus took over FBN's 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. slot, the network sought to stay in the business-news game and launched a "Morning Edition" of "FoxBusiness.com Live" that runs simultaneously. National Car Rental has signed on as the first advertiser there. ...

Certifi-Gate! America In Captivity

We Stand At The Precipice, With A Usurper In The Oval Office

Lynn Stuter -- News With Views

We stand at the precipice of the totalitarian state with a man occupying the White House, usurping the Oval Office, who isn't an American; who has, by his own actions and words, declared himself a Marxist. The United States Congress, assembled, has refused to remove this usurper sitting illegitimately as our president. The United States Supreme Court, and lower courts, have refused to address the growing body of evidence that Barack Hussein Obama is not our legitimate president; going so far as to make the ludicrous claim that they cannot overturn the vote of millions, in essence saying that popular vote (if it could even be claimed to be uncorrupted) is above the law. ...

Michelle Contradicts Obama Nativity Story

Aaron Klein -- World Net Daily

In little noticed remarks, Michelle Obama stated at a public event that her husband's mother, Ann Dunham, was "very young and very single" when she gave birth to the future U.S. "president." Her comments further undermine the official story as told by Barack Obama: that Dunham was married to his father, Barack Obama Sr., at the time of birth. The official story claims Dunham and Obama, Sr. were married Feb. 2, 1961. The pair separated two years later and they divorced in 1964. Obama's father returned to Kenya and saw his son only once more before dying in an automobile accident in 1982. In actuality, it isn't clear Obama's parents were married, since official records have never been produced showing a legal ceremony took place. No wedding certificate or photograph of a ceremony for Dunham and Obama Sr. has ever been found or published. ...

Obama Eligibility Case Survives 1st Court Test

Bob Unruh -- World Net Daily

A federal judge in California listened to government lawyers argue that a lawsuit over Barack Obama's eligibility should be immediately dismissed but refused to grant their request, saying he would make his decision and announce it later. The result came from U.S. District Judge David Carter, who already has set a tentative trial date for the dispute Jan. 26, 2010. The judge also already had lawyers draw up a tentative schedule for hearings and deadlines in preparation for the trial. ...

A Hearing Monday Will Decide Whether Case Will Be Trashed Or Heard On Merits

Chelsea Schilling -- World Net Daily

A hearing Monday is set to determine whether the U.S. Justice Department will get its motion to dismiss a lawsuit challenging the constitutional eligibility of Barack Obama to hold the office of president or whether the case will move forward to be heard on its merits. One of three things will happen Monday: 1) the judge will make no decision and choose to issue a decision later, 2) the judge could grant the Department of Justice's motion and dismiss the case, or 3) all or part of the case will move forward. ...

D.N.C. Failed To Certify Obama As Eligible In 49 Out Of 50 States!

JB Williams -- Canada Free Press (CA)

The Obama camp had been using the defense that the DNC had properly vetted and certified Obama's eligibility for months. Judge after judge had used that claim and the fact that Obama's COLB (Certification of Live Birth) had been "Snoped - FactChecked - blogged and twittered" as "legal proof" that Obama was eligible for office, despite the very real fact that Obama has never released any authenticated proof on the subject. Then we find out that the DNC did NOT certify Obama as eligible under Article II, Section I of the Constitution, in 49 of 50 states. The DNC had only filed such certification in the state of Hawaii, Obama's alleged birth place. The other 49 states received a Certification of Nomination which did NOT certify Obama as constitutionally eligible for office. ...

March Report Podcast

News and Opinion Presented by Robert Jay March

52:36. Recorded
Friday, October 30, 2009
TOPICS DISCUSSED:

Is Glenn Beck a Hero, a Coward ... or BOTH?

Indisputibly, Glenn Beck has provided heroic service to this country on his radio and cable-tv program by exposing the unconstitutional socialization of the United States by the Obama Administration. That said, it appears that he has caved to pressure regarding Certifi-Gate, the occupation of the White House by a constitutionally ineligible electee. Robert Jay March thoroughly analyzes this, exposing the pressures that he and other on-air talent have had placed them by corporate honchos who care more about their profits than our country.
Fox News was set up by Roger Ailes, a former president of CNBC and the late, lamented America's Talking Network, the pre-cursor of MSNBC. March discusses the hidden motivation behind Ailes' building of Fox News into the only television news operation that is not a press-release service for the Obama Administration, not to mention crushing MSNBC and CNN. Do you think the execs at GE are wishing they could turn the clock back?
What does the late, unlamented Hernando Cortés have to do with MarchReport.com? Robert Jay March explains the two-month gap since his last podcast, as he worked behind the scenes to make MarchReport.com bigger and better, while burning all his other boats behind him. March describes how he came to be disabled and home-bound eight years ago, yet continued to work 100 to 120 hours a week running two businesses throughout it all.
Manuel Zelaya, the deposed President of Honduras, who was legally removed from office in accordance with the Honduran Constitution, is being returned to office as a result of pressure from the Obama administration. Hmmm ... they pressured the Honduran Government to restore a President who had violated their Constitution and been legally removed from office. Wonder why? March thinks he knows.

How Freeing Seven of Nine, Tertiary Adjunct of Unimatrix Zero-One From The Borg Collective Provoked a Constitutional Crisis On 21st-Century Earth
... or ...
Bait for the "Birther"-debunkers

by Robert Jay March

Actress Jeri Ryan, best known to the American public as "Seven of Nine" on the series "Star Trek -- Voyager," is responsible for the whole mess. No, I haven't taken leave of my senses ... not yet anyway ... as the following narrative will show.

In 1990, then-Jeri Lynn Zimmermann met future political candidate Jack Ryan, married him on June 15, 1991, and ultimately divorced him on August 27, 1999. When Jack Ryan was running for the Senate on the Republican ticket in 2004, WLS-TV, the Chicago ABC affiliate, sought to have his divorce and child custody records released. In print, if it bleeds it leads; on TV, if it skewers, it attracts viewers.

When the custody records were released after a protracted court battle, it was revealed that Jack Ryan had repeatedly asked, begged and cajoled Jeri to perform sexual acts in public in various sex clubs. Ms. Ryan described one of these clubs as "a bizarre club with cages, whips and other apparatus hanging from the ceiling." Obviously not a "family values" kind of guy, Jack Ryan's poll numbers were plummeting faster than an ejected warp-core falling into a black hole. He was force to withdraw from the race, and was replaced by Alan Keyes, who lost to ... wait for it ... Barack Obama!

Barack Obama's very first act as "President" made it illegal to release any of his records. "EXECUTIVE ORDER 13489 -- PRESIDENTIAL RECORDS," signed by Barack Obama on January 21, 2009, begins as follows: "By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America ..."

As I have said over and over and over again, if there is nothing to hide, why hide it? Yet, the very first thing he did as alleged-President was sign an Executive Order that locks all of his records -- including his personal ones -- away from public view. This leaves us in a legal mobius loop: If his personal records prove that he is ineligible, then he is not President, and the Executive Order is null and void, but in order to prove that he is ineligible, one must have access to his personal records. Quoting the eminent philosopher Homer Simpson,
   "DOH!"

It is interesting to note that, in the private sector, Obama was employed by the law firm of Miner, Barnhill & Galland, which describes itself as "one of the best-known and most experienced firms in the country in large-scale voting rights cases." As such, they have done extensive Constitutional research, such as that cited in a case wherein Obama was one of the lawyers representing ACORN, ACORN V. EDGAR.

It is rumored that Miner, Barnhill & Galland also researched ways and means of getting around Article II Section 1 of the Constitution ("No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President...") Now, read that Executive Order again.

If only Jeri had let her hubby get his freak on, the nation may have been spared all of this; but nooooooo, she left us with a typically-Republican sex scandal (two straight people and no sex) which ultimately led to a Constitutionally unqualified man being elected President.

By now, many of you are asking yourselves why I even bothered to write about this. Simple: half the country believes that Obama is not legally qualified, and the other half simply has not looked at the evidence, assuming we're all nuts, racists, or both.

Those people won't be able to resist reading this article: It embarrasses Republicans, it involves science fiction, has sex, intrigue, and a gorgeous woman whose talents let her rise to the top (or vice versa). They'll pass this around as evidence that the "Birthers" have finally lost it; and, a very few of them will be intrigued enough to actually check the facts, just as I did when I did not believe it, and realize that we're right.

Resistance is futile. It just takes a while.

The reports indicated that Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad has reached a secret understanding with the Obama administration over U.S. recognition of an independent Palestinian state. Obama's Violations Of Posse Comitatus
(18 USC § 1385) And 10th Amendment

Joe Wolverton, II -- New American Magazine

The unconstitutional use of American military forces within the United States is back in the news as reports have recently been released reviewing the progress the US Army Northern Command (NORTHCOM) has made in training with other federal, state, and local peace officers and agencies. Constitutionalists will find these maneuvers worrisome as they are gross violations of the black letter and the spirit of the Posse Comitatus Act. Former NYPD detective and U.S. Marine intelligence officer, Sid Frances has called upon the state houses and Governors to assert their constitutionally guaranteed sovereignty and outright refuse to place their state forces under the command of federal officers. "I cannot understand why the federal government is so intent on using such military force within our borders. It reminds me of the Branch Dividian massacre in Waco, Texas, when the feds used that deadly physical force based on false information." ...

Obama's 1-World Government

Chuck Norris -- World Net Daily

Flying deep under Washington's radar is an upcoming (December) global climate change conference in Copenhagen, Denmark, under the guise of the "United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change." Virtually nothing has been said about it from the White House. But then again, I'm sure they think, who could be against working together for climate change? It all sounds pretty politically benign, doesn't it? Like with Congress' drafts of Obamacare, should we not be concerned because the current draft of the treaty may not be the final version, especially when the present language smacks of an abandonment of the principles upon which our republic was founded? ...

Obama's Olympic Failure Will Only Add To Doubts About His Presidency

Tim Reid -- London Times (UK)

There has been a growing narrative taking hold about Barack Obama's presidency in recent weeks: that he is loved by many, but feared by none; that he is full of lofty vision, but is actually achieving nothing with his grandiloquence. Chicago's dismal showing, after Mr Obama's personal, impassioned last-minute pitch, is a stunning humiliation for this President. Is The Current Unrest All Obama's Fault?

Patrick Samuels -- Gather

The unrest we are seeing across this county is now on a scale not seen since the war protests of the sixties. Yet this is very different. Today's protesters cross the socioeconomic spectrum, they are from both political parties and no political party. What unites them is not age or drugs or religion. What has brought all these Americans together is a mixture of anger and fear. The fear is for the future, their own and their children's. They fear the results of too much spending and borrowing. They fear an administration that puts those who disagree with them on watch lists and uses mob-like tactics of intimidation to get its way. They are angry with a congress that rushes legislation through without reading it. They are angry with a government that ignores their concerns, labels them with sexual innuendoes and is indignant when anyone dares question their wisdom or methods. They are angry with a government that demonizes business for jets and junkets yet enjoys all those perks and more on our dime. ...

On Thursday, the disgraced welfare rights organization filed suit over a congressional funding ban passed in September after nationwide undercover sting videos exposed ACORN's criminal element. The group and its web of nonprofit, tax-exempt affiliates have collected an estimated $53 million in government funds since 1994. This pipeline is apparently a constitutionally protected right. According to ACORN's lawyers at the far-left Center for Constitutional Rights, the congressional funding ban constitutes a "bill of attainder" -- an act of the legislature declaring a person(s) guilty of a crime without trial. ...

White House: No Troop Decision This Month

Peter Maer -- CBS News

A White House official traveling with Barack Obama to Asia said late Thursday, "there is a sense of urgency to get it right," without rushing the announcement. The official also says Obama will likely wait to brief top Congressional leaders until after the Thanksgiving recess. In a further indication of the administration's thinking, the official says announcing an immediate surge of troops would bolster Taliban claims that the U.S. plans to occupy Afghanistan. The official also notes that any large-scale troop increase would let the Karzai government "off the hook" on the need to build Afghan military and security forces. ...

Among Obama Aides, Debate Intensifies On Troop Levels

Mark Landler And Jeff Zeleny -- New York Times

On Thursday, Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates said that Obama had not rejected any of the four options, but was weighing how to mix and match elements from each of them. "I would say it was more, how can we combine some of the best features of several of the options to maximum good effect?" Mr. Gates told reporters. A central focus in Mr. Obama's deliberations, he said, was, "How do we signal resolve and at the same time signal to the Afghans as well as the American people that this is not an open-ended commitment?" "No one would dispute that putting in troops will improve security," an official familiar with General Eikenberry's views said. "The question is, what will Afghans do? Will the Afghan government embrace the mission of training and leading combat operations? The answer is, we don't know." ...

US Ambassador To Afghanistan Warns Against Troop Surge

Philippe Naughton -- London Times (UK)

Karl Eikenberry, a retired army general who commanded US forces in Afghanistan from 2005-2007, detailed his concerns in two classified cables last week. Mr Eikenberry's concerns reportedly focused on the behavior of Hamid Karzai, the Afghan president recently re-elected for a five-year term in a poll tainted by allegations of systematic fraud. He is said to have questioned Mr Karzai's suitability as a long-term strategic partner, because of widespread corruption in his first administration and the presence of warlords and drugs smugglers in positions of influence. ...

Healthcare Bill Faces Tough Path In Senate

John Whitesides -- Reuters

After a landmark win in the House of Representatives, Obama's push for healthcare reform faces a difficult path in the Senate amid divisions in his own Democratic Party on how to proceed. On a 220-215 vote, including the support of one Republican and opposition from 39 Democrats, the House backed a bill late on Saturday that would expand coverage to nearly all Americans and bar insurance practices such as refusing to cover people with pre-existing medical conditions. ...

Sen. Lindsey Graham: "The House Bill Is Dead On Arrival In The Senate"

Ricardo Alonso-Zaldivar -- Associated Press

Video AND TEXT. The glow from a health care triumph faded quickly for Barack Obama on Sunday as Democrats realized the bill they fought so hard to pass in the House has nowhere to go in the Senate. Speaking from the Rose Garden about 14 hours after the late Saturday vote, Obama urged senators to be like runners on a relay team and "take the baton and bring this effort to the finish line on behalf of the American people." The problem is that the Senate won't run with it. The government health insurance plan included in the House bill is unacceptable to a few Democratic moderates who hold the balance of power in the Senate. If a government plan is part of the deal, "as a matter of conscience, I will not allow this bill to come to a final vote," said Sen. Joe Lieberman, the Connecticut independent whose vote Democrats need to overcome GOP filibusters. ...

Gordon Brown Seeks 5,000 Allied Troops For Afghanistan

UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown has taken the initiative, as he believes some members of the Nato-led International Security Assistance Force (Isaf) are still not making enough of a contribution to the bitter battle in Helmand and elsewhere in Afghanistan. British diplomats also hope it will help Barack Obama sell to the American public any large increase in United States troop numbers, as Mr Obama continues to stall over committing more troops to the struggle. ...

The words come from both the King James Version and a recent translation by Robert Alter. The pictures come from Crumb's pen, the same sort of art pen that he's done all of his life's work with -- all of it, no pastels, watercolors, pencil, just this pen scritching away for half a century in a fury of crosshatching and black-and-white starkness. God said . . . R. Crumb? Here they are, together at last on the first page of this book, Crumb drawing God as if he were a madman inventor, beard and hair down to his ankles, and the whites of his eyes showing over the tops of his irises and his hairy, thick-fingered hands grasping what looks like a combination of a circle saw and a black hole, "without form, and void."

Rants & Raves from Our Readers

A reader who wishes to remain anonymous sent in this criticism:

Mr. March, You linked the video of Hillary Clinton having what has been referred to as an 'outburst' on your site, yet, you did not explain the context. You omitted the truth and presented the situation as another crazy Clinton moment. You not only misportrayed the situation, you lost an opportunity to share/address the plight of women who have no rights in their country. I have been a long time reader of your March Report and have shared the Report with many people. I wrote to you addressing the Clinton video and have seen no retraction or explanation. I won't be referring anyone to this page anymore. My belief and trust that you maintain objectivity and research all sides has been permanently altered recently. Consevative or not, you have always seemed to work at being fair and true to journalism. I now am seeing you differently.

Robert Jay March Responds:

This reader has mischaracterized the report. In fact, we went out of way to add clarity to the situation. The copy proved by WMAQ-TV, the televsion station which provide the report through one of our syndicators, said "A Congolese university student seems to presume that Bill Clinton's opinion is more important than the current Secretary of State's." In order to portray the situation accurately, we rewrote the copy to read as follows (emphasis added): "As a result of a translator's error, a Congolese university student appears to presume that Bill Clinton's opinion is more important than the current Secretary of State's. Hillary explodes, and hilarity ensues. Oh, those wacky, wacky Clintons." That was all the information that was available on August 11, 2009, when we ran the story. Witty retort aside, we went out of our way to clarify the report. Further details from the State Department and the White House did not become available until the following day.

Another reader, who wish to be referred to by the nom de plume "Needles," has an unusual take on the Certifi-Gate crisis:

The birthers need to step back and consider the consequences of their actions. If Mr. Obama were to be declared ineligible, there are several possible outcomes. They could remove him from office and install Joe Biden as President. The argument would be made that if Mr. Obama was not eligible to run for President, then the ticket is invalid as well and Joe Biden should not be Vice President. The next person in the order of succession would be Speaker of the House; Nancy Pelosi. Because no eligible candidate received a majority of electoral votes, the selection of the President could be thrown into the House. Speaker Nancy Pelosi, would then be king-maker. The choices are Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi or someone Nancy Pelosi picks. Maybe it is best to leave the birth certificate matter alone.

Robert Jay March Responds:

Mr. Obama being declared ineligible does not legally invalidate Biden's election, provided he is qualified. Even if it did, the Constitution is too important to ignore; it is all that separates us from tyranny. Regardless of the consequences, if in fact Mr. Obama is ineligible, he must be removed. That said, all we have thus far is the preponderance of evidence leading to a likely conclusion, not conclusive facts. That is why the revelation of the long-form birth certificate is so important.

Finally, a third reader who wish to be referred to by the nom de plume "unihawker," writes:

Dear Mr. March, I was watching TV the other night and they showed a clip of Obama in Kenya during his trip there during the campaign. I am not sure if it was just some Freudian slip or not, but he said as he was waiving to the people greeting him, "Thank you, it is great to be back home". My question was, If he was not born in that country why would he call it home?

Robert Jay March Responds:

Good question, for which I have no answer. If this report is correct, it is yet another contribution to the preponderance of evidence that implies Mr. Obama is ineligible. A copy of the long form birth certificate would cost Mr. Obama $12; thus far he has spent $1.3 Million to avoid producing it. As in any investigation, follow the money: in this case, what money is being spent on to conceal.
